BRIDG is a not-for-profit, public-private partnership serving Osceola County, Florida in creating the semiconductor advanced packaging and workforce hub for America. BRIDG offers R&D expertise in digital, RF, and interposer technology development coupled with advanced packaging capabilities that support an innovative semiconductor ecosystem to create prototypes, test ideas, and develop products geared toward device integration to multiple market segments. 

In addition to helping with prototyping, small-scale manufacturing, and access to the Center for Neovation—a 200mm microelectronics fabrication facility owned by Osceola County and operated by SkyWater Technology—BRIDG links businesses with research from universities and government labs to drive innovation and grow the economy. BRIDG is crucial in transitioning early ideas into finished products to move from concept to production efficiently. 

BRIDG connects challenges and opportunities with solutions, unlocking the potential of microelectronics systems technologies to positively impact customers, partners, and society. Imec is the world’s largest independent research and innovation center for nanoelectronics and digital technology. Headquartered in Belgium, NeoCity was its first US-based research and development center.

Their Minnesota headquarters focuses on technology development and volume manufacturing, enabling solutions for a range of industries, including defense, industrial and biomedical. Their Florida facility specializes in advanced packaging solutions, which involve combining and connecting different semiconductor components in innovative ways to make smaller, faster, and more efficient electronic devices.

Their collaboration with BRIDG and the Osceola County Government at NeoCity helps build a stronger domestic supply chain for high-tech industries. This partnership helps position NeoCity as a central hub for technological advancements in the U.S.

Plug and Play

Plug and Play is a well-known innovation platform from Silicon Valley that has helped over 90,000 startups thrive in today’s evolving business landscape. It has partnered with Osceola County to create a semiconductor accelerator program at NeoCity. This program is built to attract private investment and build a strong environment for innovation.

By connecting entrepreneurs with industry experts, venture capitalists, and major companies, Plug and Play helps turn research and prototypes into successful startups. The focus is on advancing semiconductor technologies like advanced packaging and deep tech, especially in areas related to national security.

Plug and Play at NeoCity is designed to give startups the tools they need to succeed. Participants can join workshops, get guidance from mentors, and use business resources to grow their ideas and improve their skills. National Science Foundation Engine

NSF Central Florida Semiconductor Innovation Engine

Located at NeoCity in Osceola County, the National Science Foundation (NSF) Central Florida Semiconductor Innovation Engine (CFSIE) is helping drive the advancement of semiconductor technology innovation in the U.S. As one of the inaugural NSF regional innovation engines launched in 2024, CFSIE plays a key role in enhancing the nation’s capacity for advanced and specialty packaging design and manufacturing. This effort not only strengthens a critical industry but also safeguards supply chain resilience and bolsters national security.

Empowered through strategic partnerships, CFSIE brings together a coalition of partners, including research institutions, local governments, and global industry leaders, to tackle challenges in the semiconductors industry. Through projects and programs that translate into market-ready solutions and workforce training programs to prepare individuals for high-demand careers in semiconductors, CFSIE is transforming NeoCity and revolutionizing semiconductor innovation in Florida.
